Is the district accepting charter school proposals?
The district will accept charter school proposals from January 2010 through March 2010. Proposals will be evaluated by the charter proposal review committee in April 2010, who will then make a recommendation to the School Board.

Process for Charter/Autonomous School Proposals
The timeline for accepting, reviewing, and approving proposals for charter and autonomous schools for the 2010-2011 school year is as follows:
1. The application period begins the first business day in January and continues through the last business day of February. All applications must be received in the Office of the Superintendent within this time frame.
2. All applications will be reviewed by the Charter School Proposal Review Committee between the first business day in March and the last business day in March. Within this time period, the committee may choose to interview charter/autonomous school applicants.
3. The Charter School Proposal Review Committee will offer a recommendation to the Instructional Pupil Services Committee during its regular meeting April, which will be forwarded to the full School Board.
4. During its regular, monthly meeting, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board will vote on the recommendations of the Instructional Pupil Services Committee.

What summer programs do you offer? Each school offers different programs. There is a process of recommendation that the principal is to complete before a student can be referred for enrollment in summer program. Please contact your school's principal.
